All who love the Lord have asked the question at one time or another: "Lord, how much farther until we're home?" We have questions like this because He has placed eternity in our hearts, and, even though we have not yet seen our eternal homes, we are nonetheless homesick for that place.
The obvious answer to this question is this: In light of eternity this life is as a wisp of vapour that soon disappears. Regardless of our time here, as measured in years, it will seem but a brief episode when we finally step into His glorious presence.
Until then we do well to remember the message of Jesus unto each of the seven churches in Revelation chapters 2 and 3, which tells us that all of His promises are unto those who overcome! Overcome the obstacles that the world, the flesh, and the devil will place in our pathway.
How do we do this? The Hebrew author tells us as recorded in Hebrews 12:1-2, "... let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith..."
Just stay occupied with the things of the Lord and one day, perhaps soon, the trump shall sound and we will find ourselves in His glorious presence, forever to be with Him!

My prayer is that you will find something here that will encourage you to love the Lord with all of your heart, soul, mind and strength. In this day of cheap grace and easy and crossless discipleship, I have a sense of urgency to challenge Christians to make their calling and election sure by examining their life in light of the teachings of God's eternal word.
